Chodzi o święta Bożego Narodzenia, święta Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego, Środę Popielcową, błogosławieństwo pokarmów, uroczystość Pierwszej Komunii Świętej, uroczystość Bożego Ciała, a także chrzest, bierzmowanie, ślub i pogrzeb.

Abstract

“Go and Preach!” The Missed Preaching Opportunities in the Liturgical Year?

The pastoral year abounds with liturgical and non-liturgical events, when in the Churches gather people which normally don’t live any liturgical life. They come “once in a blue moon”, that is for Christmas and the Feast of the Resurrection. They come on Ash Wednesday, for the blessing of food, at the celebration of the First Holy Communion, the Feast of Corpus Christi, on the occasion of Baptism, Confirmation, Wedding and Funeral. All the pastoral areas that have been mentioned, and there are more of them, are the chance to reach with the Joyous News all those who have come, are present in the flesh, but spiritually are more or less distant. This opportunity must be grasped by the diligent preparation of these liturgical and non-liturgical events. During preparation it is important to consider the fact that we have a recipient who is not only a “homo auditor”, but also a “homo spectator”. The author of the article, on the example of his parish, presents his own achievements in this regard and encourages to open oneself to the Holy Spirit, who in Poland, a missionary country, is present and acts.

Keywords: pastoral work, preaching, homily liturgy, liturgical year.
