The Pastoral Aspects of the Celebration of the Sacrament of the Sick
Summary
Sorrow, pain and sickness are occurrences experienced by every person. In such situations man very often feels hopeless, especially when he is abandoned by others. For this reason the interpersonal care and support for the sick person is needed. In our times this responsibility lies not only with the health care workers but also with the relatives and acquaintances of the sick. In the case of the people who have faith and who belong to a specific parish com- munity, this care concerns also their co-believers with the priest at the centre. This study is an attempt and offers encouragement to the new approach on everything that Catholic priests have to bring support and reassurance to the sick person. It seems that not everyone approaches to the Sacrament of the Sick correctly in our times.
